She was predeceased by: her father Dewey Yates; her husband David Finley "Bull" Franklin; her brother Sanford Allen Yates; and her half-sisters, Ruby Davis and Linda Mae Gathings.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rita Dare Stokes (Richard) of Valdese, Kathy Hoffman (John) of Valdese and Davena Lee Piercy of Valdese; her grandchildren, Jennifer Corpening, Allison Mace, Anissa Demiter, Heather Witherspoon, Stephanie Boykin and Tyler Piercy; and her stepgranddaughter Mona Winey.
