He was predeceased by: his father James "Jimmy" Settlemyre; his grandparents, Buford and Betty Jo Abee; his stepgrandfather James A. Harris; his aunt Lisa Abee McCall; and his cousin Robby Abee.

He is survived by: his mother Hannah Abee Crouch; his stepfather Mike Crouch of Granite Falls; his grandparents, Jane Fairchild (Danny) and Johnny Settlemyre (Karen) of Granite Falls; his uncles, Jerry Abee (Lori) of Havelock, NC, Keith Abee (Cheryl) of Valdese and Rick Settlemyre of Granite Falls; his aunt Melissa Fairchild Porter; and his cousins, Emma McCall, Erin McCall, Casey Abee, Fletcher Abee, Jamie Porter, Lauren Webb, Shelby Rainwater, Matt Odum and Jon Odum.
