He was predeceased by: his parents, Charley Glen West and Myrtle Sherrill West; and his siblings, Jack, Teddy, Tommy West, Marie Buff, Reba Howell, Delores Rector and Carolyn Franklin.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Calhoun West; his grandchildren, Kristin Ramsey (Jerome), Clay Ross (Maranda) and Emily Coulter (Jason); and his siblings, Jerry West (Geri) and Joan Carswell. He is also survived by eleven nephews; and ten nieces.
