He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dallas Brinkley Sr. and Ruth Holloway Brinkley; and his brothers, Marshall Brinkley and William Brinkley. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Brinkley; his sons, John Dallas Brinkley III and Douglas Brinkley; and his grandson Marshall Brinkley.
