He was predeceased by: his parents, John Russell Hoyle and Ruth Taylor Hoyle; his sister Gwendolyn McGrady; and his brother-in-law Glenn Hallman. He is survived by: his wife Twyla Helton Hoyle; his son James Russell "Rusty" Hoyle of Connelly Springs; his grandson Christopher Russell Hoyle of Morganton; and his siblings, Henry Clay Hoyle (Shirley), Verna Hallman, Jill Phillips and Amanda Ruth Burri (Stuart Burri). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
