He was predeceased by: his parent Robert S. Carswell; his siblings, Roy Carswell, Jesse Carswell, Sherrill Carswell, Daisy Carswell Proctor and Marie Carswell Buchanan; and his son-in-law Buddy Mitchem.
He is survived by: his parent Nancy Jane Carswell; his wife Anna Browning Carswell; his children, Frances Carswell Curtis (Ronnie), Randy Joe Carswell (Teresa Ann), Connie Carswell Mitchem and David Greene; and his grandchildren, Kimberly Curtis, Neil Curtis, Scott Carswell and Brooke Greene. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other extended family; and his canine companion.
