It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Thompson Payne (Valdese, North Carolina), who passed away on March 11, 2020, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Barbara T. S. Elmore; and her siblings, Melinda Thompson and Eric Thompson. She is survived by: her father John Thomas Thompson (Frankie); her husband David Payne; her children, Jonathon David Payne (Malea) of Connelly Springs, Jordan Scott Payne, Sabrina Lynn Hollifield of Conover, Jared Seth Payne (Elisha) of Connelly Springs, Joseph Caleb Payne (April) of Hudson, Janna Grace Payne, Faith Caroline Payne, Sawyer Thomas Payne, Josie Hart Payne and Hudson Lee Payne; her sister Penny Thompson; and her stepbrothers, Larry, Gary, Brian and Brent Gragg. She is also survived by wife; wonderful mother, who cherished her children; and a beloved grandmother, who delighted in her grandchildren.
