He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Brittain and Ester Brown Brittain; and his siblings, Dick, Bob, Manuel Brittain, Irene Lowman, Ruby Deal and Dora "Peg" Pope.
He is survived by: his children, Ray Brittain (Heather) of Valdese, John Brittain (Kate) of Greensboro and Mary Frye (Justin) of Newton; and his sister Callie Carswell of Valdese. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren.
