He was predeceased by: his siblings, William Griffin, Paul Griffin, Wilburn Griffin, David Griffin, Kathleen Sears and Florence Evans; his daughter Jo Louise Darden; and his son-in-law Dennis Pritchard.
He is survived by: his wife Sallie Beck Griffin; his children, Henry Darden (Michaela) of Drexel and Ann Caudill (Shannon) of Drexel; his sister Bonnie Mitchelson of Taylorville, IL; and his grandchildren, Josh Darden, Zachary Darden, Jacob Darden, Zachary Caudill and Sarah Pritchard.
