It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert Eugene Stamey (Valdese, North Carolina), who passed away on July 31, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walton Stamey and Delphia Lowman Stamey; his wife Rosie Swink Stamey; his children, Angie Mayfield and Dale Eugene Stamey; and his brother John Billy Stamey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sherry Brittain (Stephen) and Regina Stamey; his grandchildren, Darby Woody II, Caitlin Wyke, Christopher Ollis, Glenn Biddix, Caleb Brittain and Jacob Brittain; his great grandchildren, Dylan Wright, Blakli Wyke, Parker Wyke, Zeek Ollis, Oakley Brittain and Aubree Brittain; his siblings, Guy Stamey (Betty) and Betty Dyson (Wayne); his friend Donnie Townsend; and his pet Shadrack.
