It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Geneva Townsend (Valdese, North Carolina), who passed away on October 17, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Claude Buchanan; her husband Larkin Daniel Townsend; her daughter Cathy Sue Townsend; her brothers, Jack and Ronald Buchanan; and her grandson Jason Allen Huffman.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Townsend Philbeck of Shelby, Billy Lee Townsend (Katrina) of Connelly Springs, Larkin "Fuzz" Eugene Townsend (Karen) of Rutherford College and Eva "Susie" Townsend Ward (Christopher) of Catawba; and her siblings, Johnny Buchanan, Charles Richardson, Christine Hurley, Grace Shook, Judy Oyer, Michelle Luetge and Charlotte Swain. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
