He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Powell and Lola Powell; and his stepson Keith Beane. He is survived by: his wife Jeroline Bumgarner Powell; his children, Deb Hall (Dickie) of Hickory and Gary Powell (Ann) of Moultrie, GA; his stepsons, Brian Beane (Rhonda) of Morganton, Kevin Beane (Tammy) of Valdese and Mark Beane of Icard; his stepdaughter-in-law Cathy Beane of Taylorsville; and his siblings, Ralph Powell (Sharon) of Whitnel, Chettie Smith (William) of Baton and Connie. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
