He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Clyde (Jack) and Gertie Bell Tellock Smith. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Patton Smith; his children, Dennis Smith (Vickie) of Rutherford College, Dean Smith (Lori) of Morganton, Peggy Smith of Valdese, Phyllis Smith (Doug Powell) of Drexel, David Smith (Sharon Powell) of Valdese and Danny Smith (Sylvia) of Valdese; and his siblings, Leonard Smith (Betty) of Valdese, Betty Mayfield (Ned), Blenda Brown and Vickie Chapman (Danny) of Morganton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
