He is survived by: his daughters, Teresa Pitman of Valdese and Angela Moses of Morganton; and his grandchildren, John Stogner, Jessica Stogner, April Steele and Edwin Alderson. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
