He was loved and cherished by many people including: his great grandchild Graceson Pritchard; his wife Jo Ann Smith; his children, Janice Watts (Clyde) of Connelly Springs, Charles Smith (Renèe) of Casar and Shane Smith (Suzanne) of Morganton; his grandchildren, Melanie Pritchard (R. D., Jody Bumgarner) and Joy Smith; his great grandchildren, Emily, Taylor, Holly, Jonathan and Travis; and his siblings, Iva Cook, Howard Smith (Hazel, Joe Smith) and Reed Smith.
