She was predeceased by: her parents, James Vance and Vance. She is survived by: her children, Lisa Duncan (Dwayne) and Greg Guffey (Kim); her sisters, Juanita Roach and Nellie Gilland; her grandchildren, Jessica Abernathy (Brandon), Aaron James Guffey, Caden Andrei Duncan and Claire Alexandra Duncan; and her great grandchild Greyson Abernathy.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Centennial Methodist Church (1473 Boy Scout Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at the Centennial Methodist Church Cemetery (1473 Boy Scout Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139).
