She is survived by: her parents, William Aaron, Jr. and Debra Kay Spruill Umphlett; her husband David Theodore "Teddy" Chappell, Jr.; her children, Morgan Marie Umphlett of Belvidere and Clarence "C. J."; and her siblings, Amy Davunt of Edenton and William "Billy" Umphlett, III of Cameron. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
