He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Fernando and Cora Mae Chappell Copeland. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Gail Bunch Copeland; his children, Tammy C. Cartwright (Chris), Georgia Kaye Swayne (Dan Baker) and George D. "Donnie" Copeland, Jr. (Carisa); his brothers, Marshall Copeland of Tyner and Wayne Copeland of Tyner; his grandchildren, Christopher, Will Cartwright, Blake Phillips (J. B.), Daisy, Emma Swayne, Anna, Abby Baker, Trinity and Connor Copeland; and his great grandchildren, Avery, Isabella, Teresa Pickop and Ebony Wrighton.
