He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Anderson Harrell and Bessie Smith Harrell; his daughter Lois Harrell of Virginia; and his siblings, Margaret Spruill, Beulah Harrell, Johnny Ray and Joe Boy Harrell.
He is survived by: his wife Doris H. Harrell; his children, Donna H. Wheeler (Louis) of Tyner, Wanda H. Evans (Lee) of Tyner and William H. Harrell, Jr. (Debra) of Hertford; his grandchildren, Stephen Evans (Layla), Alexis E. Bunch (Paul), Lois Evans and Kaylee Evans; his great grandchild Leeland Evans; and his sisters, Mary Julia Parrish of Edenton, Eula Jordan of Edenton and Myrtle Whitehurst of Monroe.
