She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse G Dills and Ollie Green Dills of Dillsboro; her husband Fred C Smith; her daughter Shirley Smith Maxson; and her siblings, Grady Dills, Jesse R Dills, Harold Ray Dills, Claude Dills, Pauline Dills and Juanita Greer.
She is survived by: her stepmother Gracie Dills; her daughter Peggy Wike of Tuckasegee; her grandsons, William Bruce "Bill" Wike of Cary and Mark Wike of Tuckasegee; her son-in-law Mike Maxson of Tuckasegee; her great grandchildren, William Bruce III, Ashlynne Wike of Cary, Colby and Annalise Wike of Tuckasegee; and her sisters, Dorris Beck (Sam) of Sylva, Alma Shuford (Bob) of Barnardsville and Frankie Reynolds (Bennie) of Franklin.
