It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Max Ray Pettit of Tryon, North Carolina, born in Lancaster, South Carolina, who passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Franklin Pettit and Eunice Strickland Pettit; his wife Delores; his son Derrick Pettit of Spartanburg, SC; his stepsons, Dennis Gardner of Columbia, SC and Kelly Gardner of Spartanburg, SC; and his daughters, Debra Pettit (Devon Henderson) and Jessica Dibdakova (Dylan Pettit) of Taylors, SC.

Memorials May be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
