He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Evans and Edith Mae Bell (Tillou); his brothers, Richard, James and Robert Bell; and his son-in-law Mark Overton.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Elizabeth Pittman (Bruce) of Potomac Falls, VA, Ann Marie Caravello of Woodstock, IL, Dr. George Christopher Bell (Heather) of Hayden, ID, Margaret Mary Overton of Columbus, NC, Louise Marie Bell-Bernal (Omar) of Centreville, VA and Michael Thomas Bell (Anita) of Pinellas Park, FL. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the McFarland Funeral Chapel (54 McFarland Dr, Tryon, NC 28782). A rosary was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (180 Laurel Ave, Tryon, NC 28782). A burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at the Polk Memorial Gardens (624 W Mills St, Columbus, NC 28722).
