It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Smith in Tryon, North Carolina, born in Newberry, South Carolina, who passed away on June 29, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eston K. Smith and Margaret Smith; his children, Kenneth Edward Smith and Donna Lynn Smith Shelton; and his siblings, Doyle Eston Smith and Sandra Smith Cribari.
He is survived by: his grandson Jayson Sherrod Shelton; his brothers, Howard Smith and Barry Smith; and his wife Mary Stephens. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
