He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Howard, Sr. and Edna Hargett Sheppard; and his siblings, Dorris Sheppard, Paul Sheppard, Brenda Sheppard and Shelby Sheppard.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Burris Sheppard; his daughters, Kim Sheppard of Troy and Stephanie Hinson (Jamie) of Troy; his siblings, Ronald Sheppard (Pearl) of Star, Frank Sheppard (Lynn) of Mt. Airy, John Sheppard of Troy and Nancy Allred (Donald) of Candor; his sisters-in-law, Joyce B. Sheppard of Eagle Springs, Marie Sheppard of Troy, Linda Hunt of Troy and Shirley Luther (Jim) of Troy; and his grandchildren, Danen Hinson, Delana H. Cagle, Grant Hinson, Brynn H. Bourgoin and Luke Hinson. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
