He was predeceased by: his parents, Walker Shepherd and Monnie Greene Shepherd; his son David H. Shepherd; and his siblings, Larry Shepherd, Gary Shepherd and Catha Tyson.
He is survived by: his wife Rena Fee Shepherd; and his children, Rhonda Johnson of Southport, Chris Shepherd (Christy) of Troy and Daniel Shepherd (Kerri) of Troy. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
