He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harry and Vera Bixby Whitcher; and his sister Sally Whitcher. He is survived by: his wife Linda Kiker Whitcher; his children, Michael S. Whitcher (Lynda) of Apex and Amy W. Smith (Greg) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, David Whitcher (Amanda Jones) of Raleigh, Sarah Whitcher of Raleigh and Laura Whitcher of Apex; and his siblings, Neil Whitcher (Shirley) of Belmont, NH and Cheryl Hoess of Charlottesville, VA..
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
