She was predeceased by: her parents, James Wilton and Minnie Todd Varner; her husband David Michael Welch; her daughter Wanda Fay Norman; and her brother Roy Varner.

She is survived by: her children, Irene Cassidy (Buddy) of Mt. Gilead, Linda Marcus (Mike) of Troy, Rhonda Britt (Garry) of Troy, David Welch, BoBo Welch (Crystal) of Troy and Weasel Welch (Angie) of Biscoe; and her sisters, Hazel Sneed of Linwood, NC, Jean Duboise of Troy and Lois Varner of Candor. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
