He was predeceased by: his parents, Nolan Alexander and Inez Alexander; his parents-in-law, Howard and Lessie Hepler; and his brother-in-law Dennis Hepler.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Hepler Alexander; his children, Aleisa Baker (Robert) of Asheville and Rev. Brian Alexander (Kandi) of Lexington; his grandchildren, Coleman Baker of Asheville, Bradyn and Makena of Lexington; and his sisters, Anita Alexander of Newton and Marilyn Beckwith of Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Gary's memory to: Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina, 515 Blackwell Blvd. Thomasville, NC 27360.
