He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Brown Johnson; his parents, James Arville and Helen Stewart Johnson; his son James Johnson; and his siblings, Janet J. Koltes and Creighton Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Mark Johnson of Troutman, Russell Anthony Johnson of Statesville and Jeannie Johnson of Troutman; his grandchildren, Morgan Johnson, Sabrina Johnson, Helen Johnson, Linda Johnson and Levi Johnson; and his stepgrandsons, Bryan Hernandez and Manual Hernandez.
