He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Jackson Bass and Frances Wallace Bass; and his sister Janet Wright. He is survived by: his wife Sudie McClain Bass; his son Edward Bass (Eddie); his granddaughter Crissy Bass; and his siblings, Doris Lytton (Tommy) and Billy Bass (Joan).
