He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Mitchell and Cecil Fincannon Mitchell; his wife Louise Ledbetter Mitchell; and his grandson Matthew Mitchell. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Pam M. Smith (Rudy) of Olin, Tony Mitchell (Susan) of Statesville and Ann M. Alley (Dennis) of Troutman; his great grandchildren, Taylor Phifer, Austin Phifer, Grant Miller, Allie Miller, Jaken Campbell, Raylan Tomblin, Hayden Tomblin and Colton Stewart; and his great great grandchildren, Ava Phifer, Brady Phifer, Jordan Phifer and Berkleigh Phifer. He is also survived by his three children.
