He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles A. Sipes and Sarah Elizabeth Shumake Sipes; his brother-in-law William Cato; and his grandson Quentin Stultz. He is survived by: his wife Sondra Beasley Sipes; his children, Marcie Stultz, Charles Justin Sipes (Casey) and Jennifer Sipes Winford (Andre); his sister Sheila Cato; his niece Mary Beth Weaver; his nephew Scott Cato; his grandchildren, Victoria, Duncan, Isabella, Thayden, Zachery, Layla, Elijah, Emmett, Aa'hyra, Raigan, Aiyana and Treasure; and his great grandchildren, Elli, Leigh and Autumn.
