He was predeceased by: his parents, Brady Lipe and Rachel Russ Lipe; and his former wife Sharon Lipe. He is survived by: his son Michael Lipe; his stepdaughter Dare (Chris); his grandson Justin Lipe; and his siblings, Vickie Cranford (Andrew), Carolyn "Cotton" Link and Bobby "BJ" Lipe. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County at 2347 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625.
