She was predeceased by: her husband Loren Quincy Powell; her parents, Robert Guy and Edrie Alice Norton Matheson; and her sisters, Mary Hilderbrand, Martha Money and Rachel Plyler.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Powell Schade of Troutman and Rebecca Jo Powell Boggs (Gary); her grandchildren, Gail Warren of Troutman, Edrie Schade (Joanne), Robin Schade of Troutman, Laura Tharrington (Stephen) and Aaron Boggs (Bethany); and her great grandchildren, Bryan Gilliland, Hannah, Kelly James, Nathan, Andrew Tharrington, Mallie Boggs, Colson Boggs and Lawson Boggs. She is also survived by six great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends and neighbors.
