He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Sykes and Della Lowe Sykes; and his son Joseph Lloyd Sykes. He is survived by: his wife Betty Moore Sykes; his daughters, Becky Thompson (Mark) of Snow Camp and Sarah McCarthy of Trinity; his grandchildren, Ken, Matt, Dylan, Tori, Carrie, Justin, Noah, Reina and Gina; his great grandchildren, Kennedy, Ian, Caleb, Cierra, Imogen, Ingrid and Christopher; and his great great grandchild Peyton.
