It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vivian Lisenby in Trinity, North Carolina, who passed away on April 6, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Adam Harps and Jonell Young Harps; her husband Robert Lisenby; her children, Arthur Turner, Jr., Ida M. Turner, Gloria Turner and Linda Lindsey; and her sisters, Gertrude Gray, Delores Welch, Blanche Franklin and Georgianna Foddrell.

She is survived by: her daughters, Marcella Johnson (Walter), Curtistine Turner-Brooks, Deborah Boston (Eric), Cheryl Turner and Tracy Turner; and her sister Helen Green of Oxon Hill, MD. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

“Vivian was my second mother. My parents divorced when I was about 6 years old and while I was with my dad most of the time, he worked a lot, so she helped raise me and took care of me for nearly a decade. She introduced me to Jesus, prayer, countless afternoon soap operas (Guiding Light!), would always make me laugh, and was always there for me during a very confusing time of my childhood. I will never forget Vivian. She’s in the place now she always told me about and I will always love her.”
