It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Poole Giles (Trinity, North Carolina), born in Davidson, North Carolina, who passed away on December 21, 2019, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey James Poole and Nona Pickett Poole; and her husband Curtis Alfred Giles. She is survived by: her children, Alfred Dale Giles (Kathleen James) of Tyro, Marvin Scott Giles (Gina) of Denton, William Curtis Giles (Leslie) of Southmont and Melissa Giles Hicks (Kenneth) of China Grove; and her sister Irene Poole Craver of Tyro. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
