She was predeceased by: her grandfather Bishop J. R. Ricks, Sr.; her aunt Lila Devon Ricks; and her great-grandparent Flossie McCoy. She is survived by: her parents, James R. Ricks, Jr. and Phyllis M. Ricks; her daughters, Jayla Chante Ricks, Jordyn McKenzie Ricks and Zendaya Phyllis Ricks; her siblings, Damien J. Hayes, James R. Ricks, III and Sheena D. Ricks; her grandparents, Richard, Ruth McCoy and JoAnne Williams Ricks; her nephews, Jayden and Caysen Ricks; her cousin Maci McCoy; and her uncle LaVant McCoy.
