It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pauline Elizabeth Sykes (Trinity, North Carolina), born in Davidson, North Carolina, who passed away on April 19, 2019, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene V. Hill and Effie Rea Hepler Hill; her husband Hoyle Lassiter Sykes, Sr.; and her siblings, Vida Johnston, Frances Keener and Everette Hill.
She is survived by: her children, Hoyle Sykes, Jr., Cathy Shepherd (Wayne) of Trinity, Yvette Slawter (Don) of Leland and Francine Bryan (Michael) of Bedford, VA; her grandchildren, Sherri Sandage (Mike), Danny Temple (Crystal), Stephanie Cole, Beth Sykes and Chris O'Brien (Amanda); and her sister Eugenia Atkinson of High Point. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
