She was predeceased by: her parents, Claudia Eckard Stephens and Richard Stephens; her husband Jim Shumate; her sons, Jimmy and Randy; and her siblings, Bernice Wilson, Geneva Powell and Ralph Eckard.
She is survived by: her brother Richard Stephens; her daughters, Rita Miller (Frank) and Judy Ingold; her grandchildren, Rick Jenkins (Gina), Greg Jenkins (Elaine), Jimmy Shumate (Tonya), Ashley Lail (Audie), John Miller (Natalya), Matt Russ (Jen), Holly Johnson (Matt) and Colby Shumate (Sara); and her great grandchildren, Zach, Anna, Claire, Will, Sam, Max, Hannah, Allison, Tyler, Cole, Charlize, Austin and Cadence.
