It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Martha Lee Yount of Trinity, North Carolina, born in Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 96, on March 3, 2021. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Ernest Townsend and Mamie Lee Little Townsend; her husband Royall Austin Yount, Sr.; and her siblings, John Jacob Townsend, Helen Townsend and Robert Townsend.
She is survived by: her sons, Royall Austin Yount, Jr. (Joyce) of Durham, NC and John Timothy Yount (Kale) of Stallings; and her sister Nancy Arndt (Glenn) of Hickory, NC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the Mt. Olive Chapel from 1:00 p. m. until 1:45 p. m. Covid 19 restrictions will be observed; masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2780 N. Center St, Hickory, NC or the Royall and Martha Yount Scholarship Fund, c/o Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, 4201 N Main St., Columbia, SC 29203.
