He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. John G. and Imogene Barrett Barden; and his son John W. Barden. He is survived by: his wife Martha Witherspoon of Hickory; his son Mark L. Barden; his daughter-in-law Rev. Barbara J. Barden of Shelby; his daughter Rev. Anna Barden of Kannapolis; his daughter-in-law Kim Falls of Charlotte; and his grandson Chris Barden of Charlotte.
