He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Calvin Smith and Irene Saxton Smith; his wife June Harriett Clinton Smith; his daughter Cindy Bates; and his sister Connie Watkins.

He is survived by: his son Keith Smith (Sarah) of Trinity; his grandchildren, Hayden Smith, Kalvin Smith, Ava Smith, Bella Smith and Kevin Smith (Frances); and his great grandchildren, Joshua Smith and Jennifer Smith.
