He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva E. "Pat" and Maude Mickey Binkley; his wife Mary Ann Cooke Binkley; his daughter Jean; and his siblings, Gay Johnson and Don Binkley.
He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Vanhoy (Mike), Rhonda Robertson (Brent), Darren Binkley and John Binkley; his grandchildren, Crystal White, Monica Moore, Stacy Hackler (Michael), Neill McCaskill, Alec McCaskill, Jana Vanhoy and Necoh Robertson; his great grandchildren, Everly, Georgia McCaskill and Kayla Hackler; and his sister Marianne Stegall (Bob).
With social distancing observed and masks requested, a private graveside service for John will be held at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Trinity Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation at 849 Waterworks Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
