She was predeceased by: her parents, James L. Smith and Vay Sexton Smith; her husband Kenneth Graham Monroe; and her son-in-law Terry Pitt. She is survived by: her children, Keith Monroe (Angela), Denni Pitt and Laura Monroe. She is also survived by two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
