He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Curtis and Margaret Lassiter Monroe; and his siblings, Clementine Hill, Evelyn Clark and Kenneth Monroe.
He is survived by: his wife Lucille Towery "Susie" Monroe; his children, Barry Monroe (Robin) of Fletcher, Tammy Queen of Trinity and Brian Monroe (Beth) of Trinity; his siblings, Vera Stanley, Leon Monroe, Edwin "Ed" Monroe (Pat), Wayne Monroe (Brenda), Fairlee Webb and Charles "Charlie" Monroe (Brenda); and his brother-in-law Charles Clark. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
