She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert L. Stewart and Rosalie Hawn Stewart of Catawba, NC.; her husband Paul Kenneth Barger; her parents-in-law, Ophelia and David Barger; her stepmother Annie Vaughn Stewart; her siblings, James, Glenn, Robert, Thomas, Fred, Carl, Annie S. Yount and Minnie S. Lail; and her brother-in-law Jerry Sigmon.
She is survived by: her siblings, Roy Stewart (Jean) and Ruth Stewart Sigmon; her brother-in-law Benny Barger (Donna); and her nieces and nephews, Fern Wilcox, Thelma Miller, Ruby Beatty, Glenda Fraizer, Jeannie Lail, Brenda Harris, Carol Fulenwider, Judy Lail, Becky Subat, Amanda Barger-Williams, Neal Stewart, Tommy Ray Stewart, Steve Yount, James Ray Lail, Billy D. Stewart, Kevin Stewart, Randy Stewart, Jerry Stewart and Timothy Stewart.
Because of Covid-19 we request a small gathering of family and friends at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 11:00 a. m. Pastor Mark Schmitz of East Hickory Baptist Church will be officiate assisted by Mark Lail. We kindly ask that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing.
