She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. Ralph E. Eckard of Hickory; and her parents, Elvira Froehlich (Vera) and Richard Froehlich. She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy (Michael Verderosa), Ruth (Kurt Anderson) and Linda (Daniel Vilardo); her grandchildren, Heather Anderson, Nicole (Anderson), Richie McLean, Brian (Jill Verderosa), Melissa (Vilardo) and Bryan Krough; her great grandchildren, Maverick McLean and Rory Verderosa; her sister-in-law Virginia Froehlich; her niece Cynthia Taylor; her great-nephew Gunner Callahan; and also, Luna, Riley, Ellie Mae and Maddie. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, long-time friends.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Betty J. Eckard to the music ministry at St. Stephens Lutheran Church (address above) or Radio Station WDAV at 209 Ridge Road P.O. Box 5000 Davidson, NC 28035.
