He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce "Lady" Thigpen; his parents, Sena Pearline Thigpen and James Guion Thigpen; and his brother Marvin Thigpen. He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey Thigpen (Barbara) and Joey Thigpen (Jesse); his grandchildren, Trent Thigpen (Brooke), Jacob Thigpen, Jenna Thigpen, Cindy Jones (Cody) and Tabitha Moore (Tyler Schmick); his great grandchildren, Kylie Lewis, Jordyn Jones, Rowan Jones, McKenly Schmick, Harker Schmick and Hazel-Kate Schmick; and his brother Robert Thigpen.
