He was predeceased by : his parents, Hardy Howard and Erma Stanley Howard; his siblings, Lola Mae Hardison (Bryce), Nancy Jones (Orville Earl Jones) and Edward "Buddy" Howard; his fathers-in-law, Lemmie Reynolds and John W. Jones; and his sister-in-law Angela Huggins (Ruben).
He is survived by : his wife Shelia Reynolds Howard; his children, John Hardy Howard (Danielle) and Misty Leigh Brasch (Timmy); his grandchildren, Taylor Lynn Howard (Noah), Micheal Lee, Marybeth Brasch and Zoey Roberson; his siblings, James Hardy Howard (Judy) and Dorothy Rich (Melvin); his mother-in-law Mary Jenkins Reynolds; and his sisters-in-law, Lori Pickard (Marc) and Donna Ives. He is also survived by met and dated the love of his life for seven years before making Shelia his bride.
